Of course the BIG question on most peoples mind is, "Am I gonna get some disease?".... At Artifact (and we'd like to think at other shops also) all possible precautions are taken to protect the clients' safety. All needles are single use and sterilized at the studio . Our autoclave(sterilizer) is tested monthly to ensure it's doing it's job. A pallet of color is created for each cleint and any remaining pigment is disgarded. After the tattooist has put on his gloves, nothing is handled by him unless it is protected by some sort of barrier (usually a plastic film), to prevent any possible "cross contamination". Nothing that was used on a previous client is ever reused, all surfaces, including those that were protected by barriers, are cleaned using high-level disinfectants with the purpose of removing any "biological" trace of a previous client.
